    Dr Eubanks-Turner brings a wealth of experience and passion to ApplePi Education. Christina, a distinguished mathematician with 16+ years in higher education, has made significant contributions to the field. As one of the first African-Americans to graduate with a Ph.D in mathematics from the University of Nebraska and the first African-American professor at Loyola Marymount University's Seaver College of Science and Engineering, her pioneering achievements are notable. With over 20+ publications on mathematics and mathematics education, and extensive consulting experience, Christina has utilized Math Your Mind principles to help teachers and students of all ages. 


    Her success in securing multi-million dollar grants from prestigious organizations such as the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Howard Hughes Medical Institute further underscores her impact. Christina's dedication to teaching is evident in her joy of seeing students' "lightbulb" moments, demonstrating her commitment to empowering students through innovative approaches.

  • Academic and Professional Background

    Dr. Eubanks-Turner holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she also earned her M.S. in Mathematics. She completed her undergraduate studies at Xavier University of Louisiana, graduating cum laude with a B.S. in Mathematics. Her extensive academic journey is marked by a series of notable roles, including:


    • Graduate Director of the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Mathematics Program at Loyola Marymount University, where she played a crucial role in sustaining and enhancing educational quality during the challenging period of the pandemic.

    • Director of the Secondary Teacher Preparation Program in Mathematics at Loyola Marymount University, focusing on equipping aspiring teachers with the knowledge and skills necessary for excellence in mathematics education.

    • Professor of Mathematics at Loyola Marymount University, with a commitment to both undergraduate and graduate education, curriculum development, and student mentoring.
